Happy Nurses Day Round #2

Do you remember the Nurses Card that I made for my daughter back in May?  (Here is what it looked like.)  Well, she never received it so I had to make her another one.  And because I had the Forever Blossoms set out, I made her a card using it.  I bought her a pair of pink and purple pj's and wanted to make the card match the gift.  So I stamped it in purples instead of the pinks that I used on the last set of cards.

I can't wait for her to get - a little late now, but this time I will hand deliver it so that she receives it.  Next up - find a stamp that actually says, "Happy Nurses Day."  :)

Forever Blossoms

Another set that I loved in the spring mini catalog was the Forever Blossoms bundle.  This is the first time I've had it out to make something and I just love it.  I started with these two cards.  I got the ideas on Pinterest from stampingwithkristi and from Heejung Hunsberger. 

Then I made two more.  I used two new embossing folders, Dainty Diamonds and Parisian Flourish.  They really add to the beauty of the cards.

Then I made more!  I had so much fun making these that I couldn't stop.  Each one is a little different. 

The teal color in the cards is Coastal Cabana.  I think it looks so pretty with the pinks.  What do you think?  I want to use this set on everything.  :)

Parisian Beauty

I've always the idea of going to Paris.  When I first saw the Parisian Beauty stamp set in the spring mini catalog, I knew that I had to get it.  I love all things Eiffel Tower.  And maybe someday I'll even get to go there and see it in person.

For my two cards, I first made the one with the Eiffel Tower.  It actually doesn't even have any stamping on it. It uses the Parisian Blossoms designer paper that is just so beautiful, especially the pink one with the gold print on it.  With the Eiffel Tower cut out, it's all that the card needs to stand out.

The second card reminds me of an old time postcard.  It's a simple design, but I just love how it turned out.  I got the idea for both cards from Julie Gilson.

I loved using the Paris set.  I'm sure that I will come up with more things to make with it.

Pretty Green Table Runner

If you know me, you know that I love to make table runners and toppers.  They are quick and easy to make and instantly dress up a room and make it look more cozy and inviting.

This week I made this table runner for a friend of mine that is decorating with these pretty teal greens.  She doesn't sew, so I thought that I'd make her a runner for her new decor. 

To make this, I cut the fabrics into strips and sewed them together.  The strips are all different widths to give it some visual interest.  I bought the fabrics all together as part of a collection and only had to add in one teal to complete the look. 

It's quilted together with batting and backing using quilted lines 1/4" from each seam.  I brought it over to give to her and she loved it!  It really looks nice in her space.

Best of Everything

Today I have been working on some Thank You cards and decided to take out an older set called The Best of Everything.  It's a really cute set with a stitched bird, branch and some cute flowers.

This card has a saying and die cuts from Stitched So Sweetly bundle.  I love that set and use it all the time. 

The designer papers are from Share What You Love that was out a couple of years ago.  I happen to have a lot of this paper left over, so I still need to use it on more projects.  :)

I love mixing in older stamp sets and paper with the new items.  It gives them a whole new look.  :)

I ended up doing a lot of cutting today on the bird images, leaves and flowers, but I'm pleased to have these cards all ready to mail out!

Botanical Prints Medley

Tucked away at the back of the spring Mini catalog was a lovely stamping kit called Botanical Prints.  Before the mini catalog retired, this kit went on sale for half price.  There is so much that came with the kit: stamps, die cuts, papers, ribbon and lots of pretty embellishments for the front of your cards. 

I added an image from the Tuscan Vineyard because I thought that this set would work well with the Botanical Prints.  The black banner is from the kit.

Here are a couple more cards that I made with this set.  I added the little bumblebee to one of them.  There are so many possibilities using this kit.

I loved the die cut papers that came with this set, too.  Here are two more cards with a slightly different look to them.  Simple, but sweet.  I had fun using this set.

What have you made with this set, if you have it?  I will definitely use it again in the future.

Best Dressed Suite

There were so many great stamp sets and papers in the spring Mini catalog.  One of my favorites was the Best Dressed Suite.  I made these cards using the Dressed to Impressed stamp set and the Best Dressed papers. 

The first card has some cute purse cut-outs that I snipped right from the paper.  For the Bold as your Lipstick card, I stamped the lipstick and colored it in using the blends.  Then I added a lot of flowers for embellishment.  The gray purse is a gift card holder.

For the shoe cards, I used some designer papers from the Parisian Blossoms papers.  I added the silver edging using a die from the Arts & Crafts die set.  In the first card, I colored the shoes in pink, but then I thought that they needed a brighter color, so I made the second card using colors that are more bold.  To finish it off, I added some tiny rhinestones to the top of the shoes.  The tiny tag in the second card is from an older set.  It almost makes them look like they are still in the shoe store!

I just love this pretty paper that came in the Best Dressed suite.  I think I tend to use pinks and greens a lot in my crafting, so maybe that's why I love this one so much.  I changed the saying to a more generic thank you instead of the lipstick saying.  If I hadn't used up all my paper (I had 3 packages!) I would definitely make more of these!
