More Drawstring Bags

The drawstring bags are easy and fun to make!  Here's one with some pretty coneflower fabric that I love.  Pinks and greens are one of my go-to color combinations.

This next one features a little hen house on a farm.  You can use any image or panel for the front of the bag.  I have a lot of whimsical fabrics - now is a great time to use them.  :)

This one with the bunny came out kind of plain.  It needed some ribbon or rick rack to spice it up.  It was one of the first ones that I made.  Now I know better.

Here is a more subtle colored bag.  Made with soft blues and pinks.  I love using up my older fabrics to make something pretty.

Which one do you like?

Bird Carry Along Bag

I love making things with birds on them.  They're a lot of fun to craft and decorate with.  While out on last year's Shop Hop (shopping trip for quilters), I found this pretty fabric with cute birds on it.

When I decided to make this project, I knew that bird fabric would be just perfect!  So I made this carry-along bag and featured the birds.  The bag isn't very large and is made for a quick run to the store or when you don't need to bring a lot of things with you.  On this side of the bag is a zippered pocket that you can slide your cell phone and wallet into.

Here is the back of the bag that has a pocket for tucking in a little something.  I centered the bird fabric so that the little birds stood out for the pocket.  I made this as a gift for one of my friends that also loves birds.  It has a long strap so that you can wear it as a cross-body bag.  I hope she likes it.  :)

Mason Jar Fabric Purse

Last month I found some really cute Mason Jar fabric in a quilt shop near me.  Of course I had to buy some of it! This week I made some little purses using the Mason Jar fabric.  I had seen one of these small hand purses while I was out at the beginning of the month on a Shop Hop of quilt stores in my area.

I thought it would make a nice gift to give to my friend Cindy for teaching me how to use chalk paint.  I mean, what better gift than something made with Mason Jar fabric?

The bags are about 6" x 8," not too big.  They are lined on the inside and on the back side is a pocket.  The bags are big enough to hold a cell phone and a wallet if you are just out running errands or going somewhere that don't need to bring a lot of items with you.

I saw the tied handle idea while I was at one of the Shop Hop stores and I thought it was cute.  I just made the handle a bit longer than I usually do and then tied it in a knot.  I added some lace and rick rack to decorate the bags and a ribbon and small charm that says "Made for you" to the zipper pull.  What do you think?
