Happy Easter

Easter was pretty quiet this year and because of the quarantine and social distancing I didn't have anyone in my family over for to celebrate.  However, I did watch church online and cooked a nice dinner.

I made this Easter card using Grace's Garden stamp set from the Mini Catalog.  I saw the idea for this on Pinterest from Laura Seki.  I used the purple flowered paper from the Best Dressed designer pack and colored in images of the flowers from the Garden set.  I especially love the little kitty and the bird that comes with this set.  It reminds of the little kitty that lives in my house.

I got carried away stamping and coloring the flowers so I had a couple left over for the inside of my card.

I hope that next year my celebration will include people.  :)

Cool Treat Card Class

When I first saw the stamp set Cool Treats, I didn't think that much of it.  Enter Pinterest samples, and I began to find so many cute ideas for it that I bought it.  I offered a class where we made 4 cards using the pretty Tasty Treats designer paper and the Cool Treats stamp set.  The strawberry paper in the set has a pretty glossy shine to it, making the card stand out even more than it appears in the photo.

The "You're Sweet" card uses punches for the saying.  A cute and easy card to make.  I got the idea from songofmyheartstamper.  

Next, the Happiest Birthday card uses another sheet of the dsp and the layering oval framelits that I think make any saying look great.  We embellished it by cutting out and adding two popsicles.  This ideas is from theladyandherstamps.  Cute, right?

The next two cards ideas are from prettypapercards and mystamplady.com.  For the Happiest Birthday card, we stamped the cones and scoops and then cut them out and adhered them to the card.  The cone in the middle has dimensionals under it to give it some pop.

I didn't have the framelits for this stamp set, so I cut out two circles for the sundae bowl on the Cherry card and cut them in half.  I love how they came out.  The ice cream scoops are punches and then I cut out the spoon and cherry for added interest.  the saying on the inside says, "I hope your birthday is sprinkled with everything great."

I love how they all turned out.  I think this was one of my favorite card classes yet.  Have you tried this set?  Which one is your favorite?

New Catalog Party (and Free Give-Away!)

Everything is in place for the Stampin Up New Catalog Party!  Here is glimpse of the new catalog and some "goodies" for my guests!

Here they are intently looking through the New Catalog!  Oh, the possibilities of all of the projects that we will make this year are endless.  :)

No party is complete without some good food!  And there was a lot to choose from!  Thank you to all of the ladies for the delicious food and drinks that they brought.

We had some games with prizes and stamped the Happy Owl card.

 I love making cards and other crafty projects with my friends.

Here is photo of one of the prizes that I made for my guests.  They are key fobs (didn't I tell you that I would be making more?) made from Stampin' Up fabric.  Each guest got to pick one to bring home with them.

Loving the New In Colors

I told you that I am loving the new In Colors from Stampin' Up!  This card is made using the Papillon Potpourri (say that 10 times fast!) and the two new coordinating butterfly punches.  I copied the idea from Nancy Amato.

This is one of the cards that we made to commemorate the new catalog that came out this summer.  I usually cut out the pieces for each card or project for the ladies that come over to stamp.  With what they are given, there is always the freedom to make the project in their own way. 

Some ladies (and you know who you are!) are very creative and alter the projects just enough to make them their own.  I love to see their creativity at work!

Celebrating Ten Years!

This month I am celebrating ten years with Stampin' Up!  It has been a great creative outlet for me and I've met so many new people that have become my friends.  Thank you all for sticking with me for ten years!  It's been so much fun.

This adorable watermelon card was copied from Debbie Henderson.  I thought it was an iconic card to make for summer.  I used the new Strawberry Slush color to make the card's colors just pop.  The card is made from the circles embosslets, using different sizes to shape the watermelon slice.  I made the seeds from a leaf die and cut off the leaves to look like the seeds!  The "bite" is a little scallop punch.  I found out (the hard way!) that you have to punch each bite out separately and then assemble the card as you go.  A word to the wise if you want to make this card.

I'll have to admit, I'm not much for buying the In Colors from Stampin Up.  By the time I get around to using them, they are already discontinued.  But now they are staying around for two years.  So I'm more apt to use them now!

I just happen to really love the new In Colors for this year.  I love how they work together and the pretty new shades.  This card features the new colors and a new flower punch.  The paper is from the Gingham Garden collection.  I saw a card made by Amy O'Neill and used her idea and changed the colors for this card.  It's one of my favorites.

A note for this Flower Shop stamp set: Once you've assembled the stamps, stamp each image on a piece of paper.  Line it up with the punch and then mark the lower corner with a Sharpie marker (either on the outside of the wooden stamps or on the top side of the clear stamps) so that each time you will know where to put the lower corner of the stamped image in order to line up it up with the punch.  The petals are not symmetrical and it can easily get frustrating to line up the punch with the flower if you don't do this. 

Vintage Frames

Today I worked on these two Vintage Frames to donate to a local Silent Auction.  One of my friends from church volunteers at a pregnancy center for women and asked me to donate some a handmade item for their fundraising banquet.  As usual I waited until the last minute to make them, but I am pretty pleased at how they came out.  I hope that they sell and earn them lots of money!

I got the frames at the Christmas Tree Shop and used some Stampin' Up papers to decorate them.  They each measure 13" x 8" and can be displayed separately or together as a pair.  

Three New Cards

Every month I hold rubber stamping classes in my home.  Last month we made these three cards.  I love them all, but I think this yellow card outshines them all!

 

I love all of the new embossing folders that Stampin' Up has.  You can't see it in this card, but the top on this one is embossed with clouds! 

I would like to make some more of these cards with some different sayings.  Just change the saying, the color of the flower and the designer papers that are cut into hexagons and I think it makes a great masculine card!  It's so trendy too!

Life is a Matter of Moments

I was playing around with some vintage stamps and some new papers that have a antique look to them.  I came up with this frame that has the saying, "Life is a Matter of Moments."  I think it needs a little work so hopefully I can find the time to make some more improvements!
