Dainty Delight

For this week's stamp class, I made some cards using the Dainty Delight stamp set.  During Jan and Feb, Stampin Up had some pretty designer papers that coordinated with the stamps and die cuts.  I'm finally getting around to using them.  :)

Working on my first card, I cut out some of the flowers to use as a focal point for my card.  I added some soft gray paper from Abigail Rose designer papers.  I cut out a fancy strip from some of the designer papers and added that, also.  The saying is from Peaceful Moments that has a lot of nice sayings in it.

Sadly, you can only cut out about three images from each half of the pretty flowered paper.  Now I wish that I hadn't given away so many packages of this paper to my customers.  Lol

The second card features the soft purple papers from the designer pack.  I cut out part of it using Split Card Textures dies.  Then I fussy cut around the floral image and used that as the focal point of my card.  I added an oval with a saying and a sprig from the Queen Bee cut outs.  

I got the idea for this card from Wendy Weixler on Pinterest.  I could make this card all day using different colored papers for the background and different sayings.  

I got the idea for this pretty card from Gail Ellis on Pinterest.  She has a video on how to brush the ink in the circle using ripped Post-It-Notes.  I changed up the colors and came up with this card.

I love the soft look of the card and how amazing the focal circle came out using the brushes.  I added some daisies and another flower from Dainty Delight dies and did some white embossing for the saying.  

The ladies all loved making this card and want to try making it again using different colors.  You could also use different shaped cut outs to brush in for a completely new look.

Nested Friends Trio of Cards

This week's stamping class featured a stamp set called Nested Friends.  (There's only one bird image in it, so I'm not sure why it's called nested "friends.")  I paired it with Honeybee Home and made three cards.

The idea to make this first card is from Gail Ellis on Pinterest.  I like a lot of her designs and use of color.  The background is Cinnamon Cider and the white frame is made using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  I embossed a piece of vellum with the Timeless Texture folder and adhered it to the back of the frame.  Then I put it on my card using dimensionals to give it some lift and interest.  

The flower is from Honeybee Home, as well as the the sprigs.  One of the flower cut outs is acting like a little branch for the bird to sit on.  The flower cut out is from Hand Penned dies and the tan flower is from Regency Park, using the punch for the trio of flowers.

Hello There sentiment is from Nature's Prints.  I love the soft, look of this card.  

For the second card, I used Blushing Bride cardstock, with a layer of embossed white and some papers from Abigail Rose papers.  I added the nest and the bird from Nested Friends along with some cut out eggs that I speckled.  The oval frame is from Framed Florets.  The saying is from Honeybee Home and the flower is from Regency Park.  I got the idea for this card from Kim McGillis.

The third card uses more designer papers from Abigail Rose and the cut outs from Nested Friends.  The pink sprig is from Honeybee Home and the flower from Regency Park.  This idea is from Julie Gilson.

I have to say that I love all of the new products from Stampin Up.  They make paper crafting such a pleasure.  You can mix and match the stamp sets and the dies for truly amazing cards and projects.  I am so glad to be a part of the Stampin Up family.  

This summer will be 20 years for me.  Crazy, I know.  

 

Bird Cage Collage Cards

A few weeks ago I worked on some cards using the Abigail Rose papers and some card layouts and ideas from Gail Ellis, another demonstrator on Pinterest.  I kept the colors scheme very simple and love the look that these cards have.  

There's a cute new set of stamps in the catalog with parakeets and a bird cage cut out.  However, I already have a lot of bird stamps and bird cages, too.  So I used some of my old stamps and cut outs to redesign Gail's cards.  

I used Abigail Rose designer papers for the cards, some vintage lace and several older bird stamps and cages including Free as a Bird stamp set.  

Seriously, I love how they came out!  I had an old Tim Holtz bird cage die cut, one of the Bigz dies that I had never used before.  I also used the new Designer Tags cut outs for the tags on the cards.  The flower die is from the Pretty Pillowbox.  

I love the muted colors and the fun "collage" style.  I call the set of cards a Mix & Match.  Once you stamp and emboss and cut everything out, you can mix and match the items on any of the cards.  

For the last card, I kept things simple.  It's mostly a sheet of the designer paper that makes this card so wonderful.  Then I added some tags, flower and saying.  The Designer Tag dies really makes the cards.  For the color scheme, I used Petal Pink for the accent color.  I think the card would look pretty if you colored in some of the flowers on the designer papers, too.  Maybe next time I will try it!
