All About Autumn

 In this week's Stamp Class, I used the fall papers from All About Autumn.  They are so rich in color and so pretty featuring beautiful photos and gold-trimmed papers.  For this first card, I copied the idea from Mary Knabe.  I like the way the designer paper is sliced for the look of this card.  I added some rainbow trim die cuts in gold to add a bit more pizazz to the card.  I used gold sequin ribbon for the bow.

For the second card, I copied the idea from Mary Witt from Pinterest.  I love how the paper is cut into a circle for just a peak of the fall papers.  I added burlap ribbon and some leaf cut outs from Colorful Season dies.  The new Distressed Tile embossing folder is featured on the front layer.

This is the first time that I've used these new colors - Pecan Pie and Copper Clay.  I love their rich tones.  

For this Moody Mauve card, I cut 3 sheets of designer paper to make the collage background.  I found this card idea from Pattystamps.  The saying is from Painted Harvest, a set from a couple of years sgo.

And, last, but not least is this sweet little card that features a bird from Bird's Eye View set.  Doesn't he look great sitting on the bookshelf?  I want to give this card to a friend of mine who lends me books to read.  :)  I got this idea from Susan Molly.

When I ordered this paper, I didn't notice that it comes in 6" squares, so not enough paper to present an entire class.  I am waiting for it to come back in stock so that I can order some more!  It's great fall paper for your crafting needs.  

Forever Ferns for Fall

 For this week's Fall stamp class, we used the Forever Ferns stamp set mixed with the Guilded Autumn designer papers.  I love how the Ferns can move from season to season.  I think it's the most versatile set in the whole catalog.  :)

For this first card, I used the Greenery embossing folder for the background.  For all of my cards today, I used Vanilla cardstock.  For the focal piece, I stamped some green leaves onto the background and added some speckles using in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I added a leaf stamp in Terra-Cotta Tile. The gold leaves and ribbon add a nice touch.  I also added some twine ribbon that I pulled apart for embellishment.  I got the idea for this card from Yvonne Neefjes.  

For this next card, I made a fancy fold card that folds over to one side.  I used one of the gold hoops that corrdinates with the Forever Ferns.  I love what it adds to the card.  This card also has some "wheat" shafts made from pulled apart ribbon, some gold accent leaves and some of the fern images stamped in Mint Macaron and Terra-Cotta.  I finished it off with a pretty gold-trimmed bow.  This idea is also from Yvonne Neefjes.  Thank you for these beautiful card ideas, Yvonne.

This next card is very sweet.  It uses the Free as a Bird stamp set, which is one of my favorites.  The little birdhouses are die cuts from the Coming Home Bundle in the mini catalog.  Don't they make adorable birdhouses?  I stamped some wheat from the Gather Together stamp set onto the background and then added some leaf die cuts.  The birds are colored in with Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron.  They are a bit washed out in this photo and look better in person. I got this idea from Jana Muller.  Cute, right?  

Last up is a simple fall card using cut out leaves from the Seasonal Layers die cuts.  I wanted to make a Thank You card and this is what I came up with.  

I had a great time making these cards.  The Guilded Autumn papers are so beautiful to work with and the Forever Fern set is amazing.  I can't wait to make more with these.

I love everything about fall.  I just wish that it lasted longer.  :)

Come to Gather Fall Cards

For my cards this week I used the Come to Gather designer paper from Stampin Up.  I love the Pretty Peacock color of the stripes and the feathers.  I added the feathers from the Tags and Feathers wooden accents.  I thought the card needed a little something more when it was done, so I added the little bird.  He's from an old set.  I saw this idea on line from Karen Hallam.  This card can be used all year long and makes a great masculine card.

For this card, I cut out a leaf from the Peacock gingham paper using an older leaf die.  I added a smaller cut out from Seasonal Layers framelits to the inside.  Then I put a small teal pumpkin along side the tag.  The card base is Mint Macaron and the idea is from Mary Fish.

For this card featuring the Country Home stamp set, I added some embossing paste that I dyed orange to a cut out stencil that I made from a framelit.  It's along the bottom of the card.  It doesn't show up well in the photo, but it really adds some dimension to the card.  Then I stamped the Birch background in Crumb Cake ink.  I added the country milk can with the dried flowers and small pumpkin for embellishment.  The dotted paper is from the Come to Gather collection.

I used an older pumpkin stamp to make this card.  The papers are also from the Come to Gather paper set.  I cut out the pumpkins and added a dimension to the Jack-o-lantern.

I love to send out Thanksgiving cards.  By the time we get to Christmas, there are so many things to do that I enjoy the more relaxed holiday of Thanksgiving.  And you don't even have to buy any presents.

Fall Cards

I have to say this is one of the cutest fall cards ever!  I got the idea from Michelle Last on Pinterest, but of course gave it my own spin.  I love the bright orange, green leaves, designer paper, button and the ribbon for the stem!  On the inside I used the circle die-cut and put a vanilla circle there to dress it up and for the writing.  I want to make more of these!

The photo of this card came out a little blurry (sorry!) but I just love the simple colors on this card.  I copied this idea from Melynn O'Connor Long on the Stampin Up website.  I really like the pumpkin that is embossed with white on the crumb cake cardstock!

This card is so lovely in just the monochromatic colors of soft suede and crumb cake.  Simple, yet stunning.  I think it can be used as a sympathy card or other occasion, too.  Thanks to Susie Wood for the idea for this.

It's hard to tell in this photo, but the sign has crystal effects painted on it to give it a sheen and add some texture.  I sponged the leaves and the background to make them look more fall-like.  I found this idea from Cindy Hall.

I Love Fall!

Anyone who knows me knows that Fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the cool, crisp air, the beautiful colored leaves, the rich autumn colors to decorate with and my favorite holiday of all: Thanksgiving!

Today I want to share some of the cards and stamping projects that I made during September and October.  This card is my favorite (although I love them all!).  I love the colors, the leaves and the simple saying.  There is so much to be thankful for in our lives and I try to have a grateful heart!  :)  I got the idea from Mary Ann Grimmer.

I love the colors and the papers that are used in these projects.  I had fun making the card with the pumpkins.  One of the pumpkins is 3-D but it's hard to tell in the photo.  Can you pick out which one?

The little mini coffee mug is the cutest little favor!  Right?  It has some caramel candies in it, although you could put a multitude of other candies or drink samples in it!  (Think tea, coffee, Keurig cups, drink mixes, etc.)  You could change it up for any holiday or occasion.  This idea came from my friend, Deb Valder.  She has instructions on how to make it and where to order the cups from on her blog: stampladee.com.

The other little favor has a Ghiradelli candy square tucked in it!  Yes, they are my favorite candies, especially the mint ones.  This idea came from Tamara Bertram.

Okay, isn't this turkey card so adorable?  He is made from an owl punch!  That owl does a great job transforming into different characters for each holiday!  I saw the idea for this on Pinterest made by Nancy Young.

I have to admit that I have a LOT of die cut shapes!  I love this idea to use the negative space from the die cut to stamp in and then add some color.  It's just another way to use the die cuts.  There is some copper embossing on this card that really makes it just stand out.  This idea is from Deb Valder, also.

Here is another example of using the die cut shapes.  One leaf is the positive shape and the other leaf is the negative shape.  This idea is from a demonstrator with the initials of PS.  I'm not sure of her name.  If you know who she is, please let me know so that I can give her the credit.

Die cuts, inking, stamping, punching, cutting, sponging, embossing and now watercolor!  This goose card is made on watercolor paper.  We sprayed the paper with a mist of water and then loosely painted on some color.  Idea from Maureen Albert.

I love making fall projects.  Whether it's stamping, sewing, crocheting or using some other medium, (and trust me, I have them all!) it's a great season to celebrate!
