Senior Moments - I think She looks like me!

I think it's kind of funny that this lady from the stamp set Senior Years looks a bit like me!  So I thought that it would be fun to put her into different scenarios. 

For this first card, I had her baking a cake for someone for their birthday!  She even has her own party hat.  I used the cake, present, candle and hat stamp from an old set called Party Animals.  Doesn't she look ready to go to the birthday party?  She's all decked out in her finest and is looking forward to her party.

Because I like to go camping, I thought she would like to, also.  I put her in the woods in front of the campfire making s'mores!  Even though it's getting dark out, she has her lantern to light the scene.  I made this card for a friend that goes camping with me.  Don't mind her skirt, she's kind of a glamper, like me, that's why she has a skirt on!  I cut off the earrings to make her look less dressed up.  And that s'more stick, it fits right into her hand.  

The fire, lantern and s'more stick are from an old Campout set and the trees are from Santa's Sleigh.  I love mixing old and new stamps to make fun projects.  :)

For this card, I was experiencing a rainy day so I gave her an umbrella from Under My Umbrella set.  I had gone camping last weekend in the rain so I had a rainy day on my mind.  

What do you think of her in the different scenes?  Once I got started I didn't want to stop.  Now I just keep thinking of other scenes to put her in!  What would you do with her to make a fun card or project?

I think she needs to go to a pumpkin patch, or decorate the tree for the holidays.  We'll see...

 

Peony Garden Paper

The Peony Garden Papers can be used in so many ways.  I never got the stamp set to go with it, but I like using the colors in other things.  

Here's another card using Fancy Phrases.  I'm sad to see this pretty flower retire.  I used the Ornate Layer dies for the frame.  I stamped the flower twice and added it with a dimensional to give the card some color.  

I love the little umbrellas and flowers in this set - Under My Umbrella.  I used the Peony Garden papers for the background and the umbrellas, although the darker one is from another collection.  I thought the card needed a bit more"pop" so I added the darker shade.  Because this set has an easy to use punch, I love making things with it.  It definitely needed to stay longer in our catalogs.  

For my final card, I used a strip of the Peony Garden across the front of the card to ground it.  The flowers are cut outs from Poppy Moments dies.  The idea is from Kathy Penner.  I love the vellum look to the flowers in this card.

Under My Umbrella

This past week was very rainy here in upstate NY.  What better thing to do on a rainy day than to make Rainy Day cards?  I took out a new stamp set called Under My Umbrella and made some cute cards with it.  I love this set because it comes with a punch.  And you all know that I love my punches.  They're so quick and easy.  :)  I got these ideas from Mena Green.

The punch only punches out the umbrella and the handle.  So you do have to cut out the boots and the flowers, but they don't take long.  For this card, I colored in the boots and the umbrella, but you really don't have to because you can punch out cute patterns from any designer paper.   I got the idea for this card from Jaimie Barbarczy.

This folded umbrella works with the punch also.  The paper that I used for this is from last year's Tranquil Textures.  I watercolored the background and them stamped the raindrops onto it after it dried.  I got this idea from the Stampin Up catalog.

Then I saw on Pinterest that Sandy McCullough had added the little Meerkat to the boots!  This makes the card even cuter.  I had so much fun today working on these.

I used the Best Dressed designer papers for most of the cards.  I had a lot of gingham left over from last year, so I added that, too.  And the sayings are all great.  You can use these cards for any day.
