Hope Your Christmas is Festive and Fun!

For one of my Christmas card classes, I took out the stamp set, Festive and Fun and made some cards with it.  Honestly, the images are just so darn cute.  I haven't had a chance to use them yet, even though I bought them a couple of years ago! 

I had fun coloring and making these cards.  It's the first time that I ever paired Pool Party with Garden Green, but I like the color combination.  

I added a small strip of designer paper to "ground" the two images.  Otherwise, they looked like they were floating on air!  

For the second card, I added a rectangle to the inside panel and folded it so that it covered part of the front of the card.  To open the card, open the rectangle to the right.  The inside of the card looks like a normal card.  It makes a cute fancy fold.

You can kind of see how it opens here.  I strategically placed the rectangle to reveal part of the saying, "May your season."  Then when you open it, you can see the entire saying.  This little rhinoceros pulling a sled of presents is so adorable.  I will definitely be using this cute little set again.

For the third card, I took out some older designer papers called Nests of Winter.  We fussy cut the birds and put a saying on the card.  I love how it turned out.

Artistic Dies

 Last year Stampin Up had a nice die cut set called Artistic Dies.  Sadly, I never got to use it before it retired and went out of the catalog.  The other day I found it and decided to make a few things with it.  

I cut out the leaf in gold papers and added them to the Expressions in Ink papers that were part of the suite of products.  

I added a ribbon, a saying framed in gold and a couple of butterflies. I thought the cards came out quite pretty.  

The second card uses the Stitched Greenery die for the background and a different cut out from the set for the main focal point.  

I added a ribbon, some gold sprigs and an oval saying with a bow.  I got the idea from Karen Young on Pinterest. 

My third card uses the negative image from the die cut to show off some pretty papers.  I got this idea from Juleen Henderson.  

I loved using the Artistic Die set.  I will definitely put some of these pretty die cut images on more cards.  :)

"Springy" Colored Cards

    

I had a chance to make a couple of cards this week.  I got a new Sizzix die that makes these perfect-looking 3-D flowers! I have to say that I had a lot of fun making these.  Don't you just love the colors in this card?  They seemed so soft and "spring-looking" to me!

I love the soft blue flowers in this card with the tan background.  I stamped one of my new flower images onto the blue paper with white ink and embossing powders.  Then cut them out and made them three-dimensional.  I always love brown accents on my cards.  Both of these designs ideas came from Vicki Burdick.  

 Even though we had a snow storm this week (in last March!) adding these spring colors and Easter decor made it feel like spring at least indoor!
