Making Valentine Cards

Last week my friend Carol came over and we made some Valentine cards for our grandchildren.  We had so much fun taking out older stamp sets and putting cards together.  While I only have one granddaughter, my friend has 12 cards to make!

In this first card, I used Snailed It, a cute set with the little snail in it.  I love the mushroom and envelope cut outs; it really adds to the card.

The second card has a couple of heart die cuts from Meant to Be.  I embossed the white front with the Falling Petals embossing folder.

For the next two cards I used the Meant to Be dies and cut out several different heart shapes.  The little envelope is from Snailed It stamp set.  Isn't it so cute?

For a boy card, I used Oh, Snap - a cute set that I hadn't used before.  I love the colors and everything about this card.  I love the wave stamp to give you the appearance that he is coming up from the water.

Here is the card that I sent to my g-girl.  It's made using another set that I haven't used before called Little Ladybug.  I die cut the heart from Meant to Be dies and added a couple of very sweet ladybugs to complete the card.  And check out the saying, "You're as cute as a bug!"

Here's a pic of my friend after she completed her 12 Valentines!  It took us two days to make all of the cards.  I shared a couple of my cards with her so she could get all of her cards done faster.

I hope all of our grands love their handmade cards filled with love from their Nana's.  :)

Get Well Soon

One of my friends recently had eye surgery and I wanted to make her a card that had something to do with eyes.  Looking through my stamp sets, I was stumped at which set to use.  When I saw the snails, I noticed that their eyes were sticking out so I used them.

I paired it with the Garden Walk papers and love the color scheme.  I added some Wink of Stella to the snail's eyes on the right to make them shine.  The first snail is saying, "I brought you a little Get Well card and came to see how you are doing since your surgery.  Oh, wow- your eyes are just sparkling!"

Then the snail on the right said, "My, I can see you so clearly!  Thank you so much!"  And so she was comforted.  :)

Berry Delightful Cards

Featured in the Sale-a-Bration catalog this year is a sweet stamp set called Berry Blessings and coordinating designer papers with a Berry theme.  The papers are so colorful and the images cut out nicely to put on your projects.

I started out making a desk calendar for this year using the pretty papers.  I cut out the strawberries and the flower from the papers.  The saying is from a older stamp set but I thought that it went well with this set.

Up next is another sweet strawberry card featuring a couple of the berries.  I also cut these out from the designer papers.  I got this idea from Tammy Wilson.  Sweet, right?  (Get it?)

I just love this card!  I cut out the "basket" from the designer papers and used a scallop punch for the top.  I used a ribbon punch to cut out the handle.  Then I just snipped a few blueberries from the designer papers, added a flower and saying.  I used the basket weave embossing folder for the background.  I found the idea for this online, but can't find the designer.  If this card idea is yours, let me know so that I can give you credit.

The next card has a little envelope and a "letter" inside of it.  I found the cut outs for those in the new Snailed It bundle.  I know that I'll use the envelope die for a lot more things!

Here's another card made using the raspberry paper.  The colors are just so rich.

Lastly, I made this card using the die strip from the Ornate Borders.  I saw this idea from Su Mohr on Pinterest.

Do you like the Berry cards?  Which one is your favorite?
