Taking Out My Vintage Camper

Last weekend I went camping in my little vintage trailer and I was so happy to set it all up using some of the pretty things that I had made last year.  Here is what it looks like on the inside and I've put out one of the little table toppers in the seating area.

Here is what it looks like close up.  If you'd like to see it in the original post when I first made it, click here

Looking the other direction, you can also see the vintage throw that I made to bring with me.  I like using reds and teal colors when I make things for the camper.

I used Bonnie & Camille's Vintage Holiday fabrics for this quilt.  Here's the original post with more info here.

Outside of the camper, I have red chairs to match and cute little teal colored tables that I picked up at Target.  One of my friends gave the pitcher and glasses to me for camping.  They look so fancy, but they're made from plastic so they don't break.

My next goal, to camp at a site with electricity and bring some sewing.  :)

Vintage Adventure

In summer, I love to go out camping.  Actually, it's more like glamping, a glamorous form of camping!  I picked up a red vintage trailer (haven't taken it out just yet) and decided that I needed some "quilty" things to go with it.  :)

I want to decorate using vintage reds, teals, pinks, gray, etc.  I found this adorable fabric called Vintage Adventure by Riley Blake and it is so perfect for what I want to make!

I have a jelly roll and some charm squares of the fabric and I started out cutting the strips into 2 1/2" squares.  I sewed them together and make a table topper for the picnic table and one for the end table next to my bed.  I can't wait to use them next year in my trailer.

For the first mini quilt, I quilted it using straight stitches and love the grid pattern that it makes.  I'm pretty traditional when it comes to quilts and I love the linear look.

In the second one, I did some simple free motion quilting and it give it an entirely different look.  You can see the two quilting styles in the second photo.

One of my friends gave the vintage trailer birdhouse to me as a gift and I might even bring it with me camping to hang up in my campsite. :)

Oh, there are so many more things that I'd like to make with these pretty fabrics.  But for today, these 2 pieces will have to suffice.

Adventure Awaits

As one who loves camping, hiking and all sorts of adventure, I had fun playing around with Stampin' Up's Pieces and Patterns designer paper.  The paper has all sorts of cute animals and camping images on it.  I spent a few minutes cutting them out (I think I need the Brother Cut and Scan for Christmas - hint, hint) and then made some magnets using the images.

I just love the little trailer in this one.  I just bought a vintage trailer similar to this one and can't wait to take it out "on the road!"

I added ribbon, pearls, buttons and enamel dots to the magnets for embellishments.

Look how cute the moose is!  Someday I'd like to see one (from afar, that is) in real life.

I had so much fun playing around with these.  Look how I even added an enamel heart to the little bear.  :)

Which one do you like the best?  Seriously, I could make these all day.

I finished off the day making a shadowbox with more cut-outs.  The saying says, Today is the perfect day to be happy.  Looking at all of these really does make me happy.  I'm already looking forward to next year's camping adventures.

How about you?  Do you love to hike, camp and find adventures?
