Birthday Thank You Cards

For my birthday Thank You cards this year I made some pretty green cards with the Framed Florets stamp set.  I found some 6x6 papers from a few years back that I used for the backgrounds of my cards.

The saying is from So Sentimental and is one of my favs.  I am so grateful for my friends and the times that we have together.  They always make my birthday so special.

Each of the cards uses a different paper from the designer pack.  The green and pink combo is one that I like to use a lot.

I used Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce for the green colors.  On this card, instead of using ribbon, I added a strip of the paper to give it more color.

I loved making these cards.  It's fun to mix old and new supplies for a new look.

Forever Blossoms

Another set that I loved in the spring mini catalog was the Forever Blossoms bundle.  This is the first time I've had it out to make something and I just love it.  I started with these two cards.  I got the ideas on Pinterest from stampingwithkristi and from Heejung Hunsberger.

Then I made two more.  I used two new embossing folders, Dainty Diamonds and Parisian Flourish.  They really add to the beauty of the cards.

Then I made more!  I had so much fun making these that I couldn't stop.  Each one is a little different.

The teal color in the cards is Coastal Cabana.  I think it looks so pretty with the pinks.  What do you think?  I want to use this set on everything.  :)

Rainbow Cards

Here in our area we have what is called the "518 Rainbow Hunt."  People are putting rainbows in their windows or making displays with rainbows for those who are in quarantine to see when they go out on walks.

So I thought it was a good time to make some Rainbow Cards.  For this card I used an old flower punch to cut out flowers in a rainbow of colors.  You could use any flower punch, heart or butterfly punch for this card, etc.  Then I added a few green leaf cut outs so the flowers weren't just floating along the edge of the card.

And I love the saying taken from the Picture Perfect Birthday set that will make anyone happy if they receive this card.  Add a textured background, some pearls and a bow of silver ribbon and this makes a very happy card.

I got the idea for this next card from Linda Parker on Pinterest.  I stamped butterflies from the Butterfly Gala set in Versamark onto a piece of shiny cardstock.  Then I embossed them using white emboss powder.  I sponged a rainbow of colors onto the card which made the butterflies stand out.  The technique is an old one, called emboss resist.

Then I added a couple of punched out butterflies and a saying from the wonderful So Sentimental set.  Very different from the first card, but still an awesome rainbow to create.

Have you seen any rainbows around in windows or on doors?

Trip to the Tropics

When I am putting together my card classes, I love to give them a creative title.  Today's cards all feature a tropical theme so it's like taking a Trip to the Tropics.

I love the pineapple cut-out in this suite of products.  And I love the designer papers that coordinate.  I have to say, this year's mini catalog is the best that I have ever seen and I've been working with Stampin Up since 2003.

I got the idea to cut the pinapple from the designer paper from Su Mohr.  Then I placed it onto the paper that has the orange lilies.  For the first time, all of my crafting ladies voted that this card was their favorite.  I could craft these all day!

For the next card, I stamped the palm trees and cut them out with the dies.  They cut out so nicely!  I added the saying and pineapple to complete the tropical look.  When I was all done with the card, I thought that it needed a little something else along the bottom, so I added the Aloha cut out that comes with the suite.  The idea for this card came from Heather Heraldt.

I love the simplicity of this card.  What a great template - just put a strip of designer paper (any kind will work) and added a saying and embellishment!  I wish that I had bought more of this tropical paper - it looks so good.  I added a couple of pineapples and a saying using the So Sentimental words and the Stitched So Sweetly die cuts.

Here is another card with a different saying and instead of using pineapples, I added some of the flower cut outs that come with the pineapple set.

Lastly, I wanted to show that you can use this tropical set in other color palettes.  Look how beautiful these hibiscus flowers look in pink tones.  I copied this card from bluerosepapertreasures.

Here is another version of this card.

Which tropical card do you like the best?
