Rainbow Cards

Here in our area we have what is called the "518 Rainbow Hunt."  People are putting rainbows in their windows or making displays with rainbows for those who are in quarantine to see when they go out on walks.

So I thought it was a good time to make some Rainbow Cards.  For this card I used an old flower punch to cut out flowers in a rainbow of colors.  You could use any flower punch, heart or butterfly punch for this card, etc.  Then I added a few green leaf cut outs so the flowers weren't just floating along the edge of the card.

And I love the saying taken from the Picture Perfect Birthday set that will make anyone happy if they receive this card.  Add a textured background, some pearls and a bow of silver ribbon and this makes a very happy card.

I got the idea for this next card from Linda Parker on Pinterest.  I stamped butterflies from the Butterfly Gala set in Versamark onto a piece of shiny cardstock.  Then I embossed them using white emboss powder.  I sponged a rainbow of colors onto the card which made the butterflies stand out.  The technique is an old one, called emboss resist.

Then I added a couple of punched out butterflies and a saying from the wonderful So Sentimental set.  Very different from the first card, but still an awesome rainbow to create.

Have you seen any rainbows around in windows or on doors?

Frosted Floral in a Frame

The other day I was "cleaning" up my stamping room and came across a package of designer paper that I didn't remember that I had purchased!  It was Stampin Up's Frosted Floral.  When I opened up the package, I knew that I had to make something with it - it's so beautiful.  LOL

Anyway, I needed to make a gift for a friend of mine who is going through a hard time and I wanted to make her feel special and loved by both me and God.  I found this scripture stamp that says, "You are inscribed in the palm of his hand."  I thought that it was so fitting for the gift that I wanted to give to her.  :)

I added some cut outs, ribbon, butterflies from Butterfly Gala stamp set, a silver doily, a heart charm and a felted flower made from a Sizzix die.  I just love the colors and how it all came together.  I hope that she likes it and that she feels loved.

The Butterflies are Fluttering By

I love the gingham papers and butterflies that were in the Spring catalog.  Here is a card that I made using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and punch.  I got the idea from Chris Slogan on Pinterest.  I like how the lower part of the card is showing with the saying that shows on the front and on the inside.

For this card, I punched out the butterflies from the designer paper that was part of the Sale-a-bration free choices.  They fit perfectly in the punch.   I like the design of the front of the card.  This idea is from Karen Finkle.  There's not a lot of room on the inside to write a message, but sometimes you don't need a lot of space.

Here's another card featuring the gingham paper and a punched-out butterfly from the designer paper.  It's pretty easy, but packs a lot of punch.  This idea is from Kim Lee from Facebook.

This card is so pretty in person- the photo doesn't do it justice. (And why are the photos all blurry today?)  It's made using the champagne foil paper and it just shines.  I added some stamped butterflies to complete the card.  I got the idea from Carolyn Manwaring.

Last up for the butterfly cards is a sweet little note card featuring the wooden butterflies from Sale-a-bration.  It's a little hard to see in this photo, but they are on some pink paper that has been embossed with the Lace dynamic folder.  This comes from Lauren Alarid's blog.

What have you made with the Butterfly Gala set?  There are so many possibilities with it!  I'm sure more butterflies will flutter by my craft room in the future. :)
