Girl On a Bike

This week my friend Barb received a bicycle from their neighbor.  She wanted to send them a Thank You card and asked me if I had any cards with a bicycle on them.  I didn't really, but I told her that I would make one for her.  :)

After looking at some of my stamps, I realized that I didn't have much in the line of bicycle stamps.  But then I remembered an older set called Time With You from 2006 that had a cute girl on it who was riding a bike!

So I made this card for her.  I used designer papers from the Regency Park collection and added some punched flowers from the paper.  Seriously, how cute did that turn out?

I added some designer paper to the back of the envelope and some punched flowers to the front.  Everyone loved it.

Snowflake Wishes

Today I wanted to make a card using Snowflake Wishes.  I got this set last year but didn't get to make as many projects with it as I had wanted.  I like cool Balmy Blue and Gray Granite colors on the card.  It has a nice wintery look that can be used beyond the holidays.

For this first card, I used Balmy Blue for the background that shows under the snowflake cut-out.  I love how the card turned out but after I made it, I remembered that I had some blue glitter paper and I wanted to give that a try on the card.

It's hard to see the beautiful sparkle that the glitter paper gives to this card in the photo.  It's so pretty in real life.  Here you can see that I didn't use a Christmas saying on this card so that I can send it anytime over the winter months.  And here in upstate NY, that's like half of the year.  LOL

I got the idea for this card from Cindi Copeland on Pinterest, one of my favorite place to be.

Spending Time with Friends is Time Well Spent

Each year for my birthday, I try to think of a new place that my friends and I can go for the day.  This year we went to Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown.  Then we took a ride on the Glimmerglass Queen for a tour around Otsego Lake.  It was a beautiful and day and even more fun to spend it with some friends.  :)

For my Thank You cards this year, I chose to use the Happier Forest Friends suite in the new catalog.  I didn't really do any stamping; it's all just cutting out the animals from the designer papers.  I just love the little bear and his "friends."

Each card came out a little differently, depending on what the scene looked like from the designer paper.  I love the colors of this suite, the whimsical look to the animals and how nicely they all came together.  For some of the cards, I cut out some trees from the cut outs to add to the scene and to have a place to put the little owl.

Thank you to all of my friends, for your gifts, time, friendship and love.  I enjoyed the luncheons, dinners, Van Gogh Experience and spending time with each of you.  :)

This painting looks so real!

I can't even wait to use this set again!  And even though it is very whimsical, it's not just for kids.  Maybe next time the bear will come "camping" with me.

Glamping Thanks

This week I made some "glamping" thank you cards to give to my friends that helped me with my camper.  I used the Glamper Greetings set that I've had for some time now and I had a lot of fun with using the sweet images.  I mean, look - there's even a little flamingo by my camper!

The striped paper is from the Succulent series and I think it added some pizzazz to my cards!
And my camper has red and white striped curtains on the inside, so it goes along with my theme.

I've been having so much fun this summer camping in my little Retro.   I'm grateful for such good friends that help me and those that camp with me.  It's the highlight of my summer!

Best of Everything

Today I have been working on some Thank You cards and decided to take out an older set called The Best of Everything.  It's a really cute set with a stitched bird, branch and some cute flowers.

This card has a saying and die cuts from Stitched So Sweetly bundle.  I love that set and use it all the time.

The designer papers are from Share What You Love that was out a couple of years ago.  I happen to have a lot of this paper left over, so I still need to use it on more projects.  :)

I love mixing in older stamp sets and paper with the new items.  It gives them a whole new look.  :)

I ended up doing a lot of cutting today on the bird images, leaves and flowers, but I'm pleased to have these cards all ready to mail out!

Inspiring Iris Card

In June I held a new catalog Open House for my Stampin' Up friends.  Because of the social distancing rules, I had the party in my front yard, where everyone could sit far enough apart. They enjoyed looking through the new catalog, seeing one another again, playing games and eating snacks together.

Our Make & Take for the day was this pretty card featuring the Inspiring Iris stamp set.  I got the idea from Vicki Burdick and cut them out in different colors for the ladies to make.

The first card that I made had watermelon wonder cardstock for the background, but I felt that it needed just a bit more contrast, so I made the card again using black for the background of the card.  I added a black scallop border around the stamped image and I love how it came out.  The center border is from the Magnolia Memory dies,  I think it adds a nice touch to where the designer paper and white paper meet.  I used the "thanks" from the stamp set and cut it out with the small die in the Stitched So Sweetly die set.

There are a few Make & Take kits left, so I'm off to do some more stamping!

It's a Daisy Craze!

This week I made 3 cards featuring the Daisy Delight stamp set.  I wanted to show the ladies who come over to stamp with me the diversity of the Daisy stamp.  And I am loving this set.

Here is Card #2 (Card #1 is in the previous post), made with Bermuda Bay cardstock and accented with some sponging.

For the sponging, I punched 3 different sized circles with punches onto a piece of scrap cardstock and then sponged them onto the white layer with different colors.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Bermuda Bay and Soft Sky.  Once you are done with that, randomly stamp the Daisy image using black ink.

Add a saying and some rhinestones to make it sparkle.  Very different look, right?  I got the idea for this card on Pinterest from Amanda Mertz.

Card #3 is a bright and cheery yellow Thank You card.  For this card, I used thick white cardstock for the base, added black frame and some Daffodil Delight designer paper.  Then I used a circle framelit and added stitches with a white chalk pen.  I stamped and punched two daisies for the center.  I put the dimensionals under the black circle and under the saying.  The idea is from dutchstampin.blogspot.nl.

There are so many different ways to use the Daisy stamp set!  I think I've only just begun.  :)

Still More Summer!

Last week I made this card that I copied from Mary Fish.  I just think it's the cutest summery card ever!  I took out the Jars of Love stamp set, stamped the 3 jars first onto white cardstock and then onto the pretty Fruit Stand designer paper.  I used the framelits to cut out the white jars, and then I hand-cut the jars on the designer paper, cutting just inside of the second jar lines.  This makes the "fruit" look like it's inside of the jars.

I embossed the jar lids with gold embossing powders and then arranged the jars on the card using some dimensional dots on the left side of the jars, giving them the look like they are sitting on a shelf.  The saying is from Apple of My Eye.

Seriously, can it get any cuter than this?  I'm off to make more.  :)

Colorful Hexies

Last week was my birthday and I had some friends over to see my new home.  It was a mad scramble to get things in order because we just moved in, but I loved having everyone at my house to celebrate my birthday with me!

I wanted to send each of my friends a handmade Thank You card to let them know how special that they are to me. :)  I made these cute hexie flower cards. I love the color scheme and how bright and cheery they are.  I used the Six Sided stamp set with the coordinating punch - my favorite kind of stamping! I found the idea for this card on Pinterest by Jeanna Bohanon.

I arranged the hexie flower pedals in different patterns.  Which one do you like the best?  Or doesn't it matter?

She Had Bird Cage Decor

I guess I had a lot of thank you cards to make this week!  I made this card for someone that I just met and she was very kind to me.  She had bird cages in her home as part of her decor, so I made this card for her.

I love the look of the antique bird cage on this card.  Kind of vintage-y looking- don't you think?

Flower Card

I had some thank you cards to make this week to give to some of my friends who had remembered me on my birthday!  I love looking through my (vast) collection of rubber stamps and pulling out an older set to work with.

I chose some bright colors and painted in the flowers for this cute stamp.  Because it has a curve on the bottom, I added the saying using a circle punch.  It's so summery and bright looking!

How many of you remember this set?
